An interest score runs alongside the conversation. It starts at 45 percent and every message moves it. It goes up on questions she can actually answer, on picking up her topic and on telling her something about yourself. It goes down on filler openers, one-word replies, ten-line walls of text, early pushes for a number or a date, compliments about her looks instead of a conversation, and rudeness.
The three characters differ in more than tone. Emma reads a looks compliment as the laziest possible move and drops interest, Chloe answers it with irony, Sofia takes it well. That is the point of the trainer: the same message lands differently, and there is no universal script.
Companion bots are built to make you feel good. They agree, they admire, they never leave the conversation. As entertainment that works, as practice for real dating it does not: a partner who accepts everything gives you no feedback.
Here it is the opposite. Her job is to behave like someone with forty unread messages who is not obliged to carry the conversation for you. The value is not the chat itself but the breakdown that follows it.

Picking up a detail. If her message gave you something to grab, grab it. It is the only way to show you are reading rather than sending the same text to ten people.
Something about yourself. A conversation made of questions alone turns into an interview. For every two questions, give something back.
Sane length. Two or three sentences. One word reads as indifference, ten lines read as a monologue that is hard to answer.
Pace. Numbers, calls and meeting up come after the conversation has arrived there on its own. On the second message it reads as pressure.
"Hey, how are you." The most common opener and the emptiest one: there is nothing to answer, so most people do not.
A looks compliment instead of a conversation. Everyone sends those, and they say nothing about you. If you want to compliment something, compliment a choice, a taste or an activity that shows in her profile.
One-word replies. "Ok", "cool", "nice" hand the whole job to her. After three of those she stops writing.
A wall of text up front. A ten-line introduction demands a matching answer, and nobody writes that for a stranger.
Rushing the meet-up. Suggesting a call on the second message does not read as confidence, it reads as inattention.
Irritation. A dry answer cannot be fixed with a sharp one. In the trainer rudeness zeroes the score instantly, and real life is not far off.
